Best PokerTracker 4 Alternatives for 2026

What PT4 does and why people look past it

PokerTracker 4 has been part of the poker landscape since the company began building tracking software in 2001, and it is the benchmark most alternatives get measured against. It runs natively on Windows and macOS, and it bundles a lot: a HUD (the overlay of opponent statistics at the table), a full hand database with reports and queries, a hand replayer, filters, and — in every edition — ICM (Independent Chip Model) and equity calculators at no extra cost.

So why look elsewhere? A few honest reasons come up often:

  • Price model. PT4’s one-time tiered licences ($64.99–$159.99) suit most buyers, but the “Small Stakes” tiers cap how far you can take the software, and some players simply prefer a cheaper entry point or a subscription.
  • No GTO tools. PT4 tracks and reports; it does not solve. Players who want built-in strategy tools look at DriveHUD 3 or a dedicated solver.
  • Mobile-app hands. If you play on room mobile apps, PT4’s desktop focus leaves a gap that Hand2Note fills.

The short answer

The alternatives

Hold’em Manager 3

The classic Windows tracker. A lifetime licence (third-party 2026 listings show roughly $99.99 Small Stakes / $199.99 Full; the official price is shown at checkout) comes with one free year of Support & Maintenance, then $29.99–$79.99 per year depending on what you bought. The company states there will never be a paid upgrade to the software itself. What it adds over PT4: Notecaddy, which generates behaviour-based notes from your hand histories automatically, and the Ignition Hand Grabber for rooms that don’t write usable hand files (Table Ninja II is a separate purchase). It supports a wide room list including PokerStars, partypoker, 888, Winamax and Ignition, and a 14-day trial is available via PokerStrategy.

Hand2Note

The subscription option, and the strongest Mac story among the alternatives: native macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) as well as Windows. Learner is $15.99 per month (paid yearly) with a 200,000-hand database cap, a $0.25 big blind cash / $20+$2 tournament stake cap, and no custom report filters; Pro is $39 per month (paid yearly) with no restrictions. The differentiator: it tracks hands played through room mobile apps. A 14-day trial (5 million hand cap, no custom filters) and a 7-day money-back guarantee apply, with 24/7 chat support.

DriveHUD 3

The value play with a strategy twist: every plan includes a built-in GTO solver and trainer — something PT4 doesn’t offer. Core is $59.99 for the first year (renews at $19.99/year) for games with buy-ins of $50 or under; Ultimate is $119.99 first year (renews $39.99/year) with no stake cap; Ultimate+ is $199.99/year and adds the Asian Hand Converter for rooms such as PokerBros, PPPoker, ClubGG and WPT Global. Also included: ICM tools, a replayer, timing tells, MDA (mass data analysis), and Hold’em plus Omaha (PLO 4, 5 and 6-card). Windows; the official FAQ says Mac users run it via Parallels or Boot Camp. Add-ons: X-Ray ($39/yr), Leak Buster 3 ($79/yr), or the Edge Suite bundle ($169 first year).

Poker Copilot

The gentle, affordable start: one-time $39 (Micro, up to $10 buy-ins / $0.10bb), $69 (Small, up to $30 / $1.00bb) or $99 (All-Stakes). Native macOS 11+ (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows 10/11. Version 8 (latest update 2 October 2026) adds AI analysis to the hand replayer, and every purchase includes a one-month SharkScope Silver subscription. A 14-day trial needs no card, and there’s a 14-day money-back guarantee.

Switching considerations — and one honest note about data

Tracker databases live on your own computer, in each product’s own format. There is no universal “export from PT4, import into another tracker” button: when you switch, you re-import your original hand history files (the ones your poker room writes) into the new program, and it rebuilds its statistics from scratch. That process is the same whatever you switch to — or from — and it is the main real cost of changing trackers, before any money changes hands.

Who should stay on PT4

If any of these describe you, switching is probably not worth the re-import effort:

  • You own a licence that covers the stakes you play, and the one-time model suits you.
  • You are on a Mac and don’t need mobile-app tracking — PT4 runs natively on both platforms.
  • The built-in ICM and equity calculators cover your tournament needs (see the tournaments guide if you want to go deeper there).
  • Your database is built up and your reports work for you.

FAQs

Can I move my hand history database directly from PT4 to another tracker? Not directly. Trackers keep data in their own formats; you re-import the original hand history files from your poker room into the new program.

Does Hold’em Manager 3 work on a Mac? No — it is Windows-only. Mac players usually choose PT4, Hand2Note or Poker Copilot natively, or run Windows software via Parallels/Boot Camp.

What’s the point of a built-in GTO solver in a tracker? DriveHUD 3’s is a bridge: it lets you check strategy questions without a separate solver subscription. For serious solving study, the dedicated solvers in our best solvers guide go much deeper.

Which trackers work with mobile poker apps? Hand2Note tracks hands played on room mobile apps. DriveHUD 3’s Ultimate+ plan adds the Asian Hand Converter for rooms such as PokerBros, PPPoker, ClubGG and WPT Global.

Do all of these cost money every month? No. Poker Copilot is a one-time purchase per major version; HM3 is a lifetime licence plus optional annual support; only Hand2Note and DriveHUD 3 are pure subscriptions.

What is the difference between a HUD and a database? The HUD is the live overlay of opponent statistics while you play; the database is the stored history you query and report on afterwards. Every tracker here does both.
