|
|
Hey Steve,
thx for your answer on the other topic.
Well, now I had to Re-Install my OS (Vista 32-bit). I made a backup of the whole folder ".../Program Files/PokerScore/" including the "MyResults.db".
Now I just installed PokerScore on my computer and wanted to overwrite the empty one with my own Result-File.
After I did that, no changes appear in the software: no results are shown. !!!!
I really hope that there is a way for fixing that, because I dont want my february results beeing deleted !!
I will send you my result-file to your email adress, so you can fix the problem with the filter, and hopefully tell me how to import the data into the empty program..
thx ! |

who had the same problem, and it worked for her, so try these steps carefully. (jazzmine's question for which I got best answer: http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind... ). Others will tell you to download other programs, but you shouldn't have to because the zip file functions are built into MS Vista.
This happened to me twice, and I permanently solved it using the zipfix_vista.reg download. :
Others will also tell you to go right-click > Open With or to go Control Panel > Program > Default Programs > "Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program" > Change program, but that won't work because Vista itself must open it. I'm explaining the steps very well here because in my opinion, they are not well explained on my source websites for the zipfix_vista.reg download.
1) You have to be in the administrator account for the zipfix_vista.reg download to work. I tried doing it in my computer account, but even though everyone has administrator privileges on our computer, I just got error pop-ups, so go to the administrator account, and reopen this web page there.
2) Go to http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/10... .
3) In IE, click "zip" in the "File association fixes" chart or you can right-click and go "Save Target As". In Firefox, you should right-click and go "Save Link As"; otherwise you will get a web page of computer programming for zipfix_vista.reg, but then you could go File > Save Page As to alternatively safe the zipfix_vista.reg download.
4) A "File Download - Security Warning pop-up appears. You are being told to press "Save" if you trust the website. We can trust it because of my sources, one of which is About.com, a help site owned by the NY Times and written by experts.
5) Press Save. The zipfix_vista.reg download should look like a blue Rubik's Cube with pieces flying off. Right-click the zipfix_vista.reg download and press "Merge". The "Open File - Security Warning" pop-up appears again asking you to run the program if you trust its source. Press "Run".
6) The "User Account Control" pop-up appears asking for permission to continue. Press "Continue".
7) The "Registry Editor" warning pop-up appears asks "Are you sure you want to continue?" Because we trust our source, we press "Yes". If you didn't use the administrator account like I told you to, you will get a red "Registry Editor" pop-up saying it could not import all the data from the zipfix_vista.reg download.
The blue "Registry Editor" pop-up appears saying "The key and values in zipfix_vista.reg have been successfully added to the registry." Press "OK".
9) Now if you right-click on a zip file, the built-in Vista zip file functions, including extracting, should be working.
10) The only damper to your ecstasy is you will notice that the zip folder icon, the yellow folder with a zipper, has not reappeared. To solve this go, Start > All Programs > Accessories > right-click Command Prompt > Run As Administrator. In the command prompt, enter:
"cmd /c assoc .zip=CompressedFolder" .
11) Now that your yellow zip folders with zippers are back, you can go back to being ecstatic. Also, notice that if you right-click a zip file and go Open With > Wordpad (for example), the zip file stays the way it should be, since this is how your original problem started.
Other Notes:
a) The 1st time this happened to me, Vista must have restored its own defaults because the problem seemed to fix itself after a few days; however, the problem of being able to try to open zip files with the wrong program remained, which is how I had this problem a 2nd time. You can read about that experience at http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;... . It was weird.
b) Opening a zip file with IE like is particularly bad because I did that too. IE started "flashing" on and off so fast, that I had to unplug the computer because I didn't have enough time to end the task in Windows Task Manager, nor could I reboot the computer.Casino en ligne AbsolutePoker Rakeback
Source(s):
My sources are very important because your computer understandably tells you to only download programs from websites that you trust:
1) My original source of references to http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/10... and alternatively http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/65254-... (This site has the same zipfix_vista.reg download, and it publishes the same newsgroup I used, but to download, you must have an account) was:
a) my post titled "zip or compressed files in Vista opening with wrong programs?" posted by "cptcanuck2" in the newsgroup "microsoft.public.windows.vista.general"...
b) the same newsgroup (It's missing the thread by Bill Yanaire though. His vista64.com link was good too, but that wasn't the one I used) published at http://www.vistax64.com/vista-general/18... .
Obviously, I'm using my judgment here because if a bunch a technical experts in a newsgroup all agree on a program, then it should be safe, right.
If you don't know about newsgroups, they are public email bulletin boards, which are a part of the internet which predates the World Wide Web. You need a newsreader such as MS Outlook Express or Mozilla Thunderbird, and then to start a newsgroup account, you have to enter the NNTP for you ISP which is usually the name of your ISP followed by "news", or it could even be just "news". Then subscribe to the "microsoft.public.windows.vista.general" newsgroup . Newsgroups posts expire after a couple weeks, but they are usually saved forever in Google Groups.casino Fulltilt rakeback
2) About.com: About.com is owned by the N.Y. Times and is written by experts, and the About.com page http://email.about.com/cs/hotmailtips/qt... links to http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/22... if you click the blue "Registering Hotmail with the Default Programs tool" link.
3) winhelponline.com and vistax64.com are mentioned very often in the newsgroups on www.microsoft.com. |
